If you are finding the game too challenging, use this. I'll probably use this if I ever need to re-unlock all the stock maps. It has better traction than the K700 but burns fuel like the stock 6圆 trucks. It has a trailer that can haul 8 points of logs along with a crane. It will crawl out of almost anything, doesn't burn that much fuel, and the accessories are a bit too insane. KrAZ 257 SVE 6圆: Looks amazing but makes the game very easy. Mods that I don't use but I'm keeping an eye on:
There are a lot of little addons like the lightbar, small auxiliary tanks, and roof rack that really make this thing awesome. It's maybe a little quicker than the stock trucks but it doesn't have obscene traction and torque or anything. KrAZ-6322: This is one of the best looking 6圆 trucks, IMO. This one seems pretty balanced and it looks great. KrAZ-6316: I don't usually start with 8x8s. It comes with smaller versions of some of the stock accessories and trailers. Used to be OP but is rebalanced to be a good alternative to the B66. GOMINU: A nice 2-star vehicle that's insanely well done. It seems a little quicker than the stock jeeps but also seems easier to roll. What I have end up being more-or-less cosmetic or thematically different versions of things that are already in the game. I highly recommend this map if you want a challenge.Īs far as vehicles go, I've done my best to avoid totally OP Workshop mods.
I've got Blackwater Canyon which is pretty intense and I'm sure I'll be revisiting that. I'm especially looking for objective-based maps. Just don’t blame us if you get hooked.I'm looking for some new maps and I'm wondering what others are finding fun/interesting. Spintires: MudRunner is available on PC, as well as the Xbox One, Playstation 4 and even the Nintendo Switch-and it's surprisingly cheap to buy. Whether you are a seasoned 4x4 veteran or you’ve never been off-roading in real life, chances are you’ll have a blast navigating a variety of vehicles across the challenging terrain. While it’s likely that SpinTires: MudRunner will always remain a game with a relatively small cult following, it’s very well done and is a nice change of pace from the more popular driving games out there.
From the way the vehicles sink in, to the ruts they make when trying to get out, it’s both fascinating and somehow beautiful to watch. Speaking of getting stuck, the mud physics in particular are incredible. There’s also a winch, which comes in quite handy when you inevitably get yourself stuck. To go along with its robust physics engine, MudRunner gives players a number of tools to get where they need to go, including a compass, four-wheel drive systems and locking differentials on certain vehicles. You'll also have to manage your fuel usage along the way. Here it’s all about navigating and figuring out the best way to traverse, muddy roads, river beds and various inclines. If you are used to high speeds and huge jumps, you’ll be in for a surprise when you fire up MudRunner. MudRunner featured more of the same, and last year an expansion called American Wilds was released, which added new terrain and new American-made vehicles to the mix.Īmong the vehicle roster are classics like the Chevy K5 Blazer and an early ‘90s Ford F-150 4x4, and there are also vintage big rigs like the Chevy Bison and Ford LTL9000. Slow-paced and methodic, the original Spintires featured a variety of old school Soviet-era trucks and 4x4s that you’d use to haul various loads across muddy, varied terrain using different techniques. Spintires began as a Russian indie-developed game that was released on PC back in 2014, and in 2017 it was followed by a spin-off called MudRunner, which was also released on consoles. In fact, we’ve been having an absolute blast during our short time playing it. If you are looking for a more focused off-road experience, there's a game called Spintires: MudRunner that has picked up a significant following over the last few years, and if you aren’t familiar it’s certainly worth a look. Yes, games like Forza Horizon have an ever-expanding roster of all terrain vehicles, but their racing style leans more toward the arcade spectrum, with high speeds and a lot of huge jumps. When it comes to off-roading games though, there aren’t nearly as many as choices. From open world arcade titles to ultra realistic sim games, there is no shortage of experiences to choose from these days.
